Fusion Student Delegation

Who We Are

The Fusion Student Delegation (FuSD) is a non-partisan organization that assembles the future leaders in fusion energy. On the Delegation's annual trip to Washington DC, the group discusses challenges facing fusion with lawmakers, government officials, and policy experts. Modeled off the Nuclear Engineering Student Delegation (NESD), participants attend a week-long program of policy workshops, discussions with think tanks, networking events, and meetings with congressional offices. Our second annual program will take place Saturday, May 31st- Friday, June 6th 2025.

Mission Statement

To give graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to engage with Congress, executive agencies, think tanks, and industry groups; advocate for fusion energy-relevant policy; analyze existing public policy and write original policy statements; network with fusion industry leaders, scientific experts, and policymakers in Washington, DC; and develop their science communication skills

How to Participate

Participation in FuSD is open to all students who will be pursuing, or within one year of completing, an undergraduate or graduate degree during the annual program in DC (see the Bylaws for further details). Participants for the upcoming year's program are selected through a competitive application process. Applications for the 2025 delegation are now open!
